Two-way trade reached 89.2 billion U.S. dollars last year, and the two countries plan to raise the volume to 100 billion dollars by 2015 and 200 billion dollars by 2020.

A special friend of mine has a daughter who had an abortion.
She is troubled by her decision. I, personally, am pro-life.
Do you have any suggestions how I may help assuage her grief?

A. An abortion is a most grave act but, the greatest sin committed by man is but a grain of sand compared with the Mercy of God. (1)
If the young lady is truly contrite, what He says to her is:
Go and sin no more [John 8:11]
When He made that statement He was speaking to an adulteress and what He meant was that she should not commit adultery again. Obviously, the "not committing sin", in global terms, is an impossibility for any human. There is "sin" and there is "sin" and "Go and sin no more" refers to the truly gravest sins, but also strive to minimize all others.
Therefore - if she is truly sorry and will not do it again, she can claim His Mercy and she will be forgiven and finally be at peace.
God cannot resist a truly sorrowful and contrite heart.
Taking it one step further - when she crosses the veil and has earned Paradise through her choices in Time, she will have the joy of meeting face to face her aborted child and, since her grievous sin was forgiven, they will be able to "make up for lost time" on Earth.
My sincere prayers accompany her. If she accepts and acts upon what we have said, she will feel the peace returning to her soul.

Did you know that.... regardless what the authorities say, Ebola spreads in a multitude of unstoppable forms?
The Spanish nurse who contracted it while tending an Ebola patient said that she: "...had
apparently told another health worker that she had touched her face with her protective
gloves." (1)
One also see all human treating Ebola patients with special suits, head dresses, gloves, etc. since, if they come in contact with them, they may also become infected.
Now then.... what about the flies, gnats, mosquitoes, domesticated animals and wild animals who feed on decaying flesh? Where are their gloves, head dresses, special suits...?
There is an abundance of them in Africa, but there are also present in first world countries.
In other words: The spread of Ebola is unstoppable. The world official's priorities should be that of greater isolation of the countries already well infected, rapid tests and effective treatment. But, as we are fully aware of, it will only be contained after what it has accomplished (2) what God allowed its spread for.

Did you know that..... Stephen Hawking claims to know that God does not exist?
Instantly, we see that Stephen Hawking, the very scientist who claimed that philosophy (and now also apparently theology) is dead; relies on philosophy and fails at it. He claims that science offers a "more convincing" cosmogony but recall that his ultimate answer, thus far, is that if you have gravity; the universe can arise therefrom.
Hawking elucidated, "Before we understood science, it was natural to believe that God created the universe, but now science offers a more convincing explanation."
In a fascinating article, we learn what happens when a scientist wastes his God given talent
turning his scientific pursuits into seeking to do away with God. Dominique Mosbergen wrote

We must pray for his conversion. The life of Mr. Hawking has been one of suffering and physical misery. Seldom a soul destined to hell is encased in a body which must endure so much suffering through Time. Therefore - the probability that His soul is destined for Heaven is high. Now then, if with all the suffering of his life he has not "heard" God yet, and he is destined for Heaven, I shudder to think about what additional suffering is in store for him so that he finally "hears" God.
It was precisely a few hours before we read the above news report that I was telling a collaborator that: Based on my awareness of reality, if I were an atheist because no one had ever told me about God, I would declare, without a doubt, the existence of some supreme being, who is above all and rules all.
That is how absolutely obvious God is those who have Eyes to See and Ears to Hear, and who are not afraid to see all that must be seen and hear all that must be heard - not day in and day out, but minute in and minute out!
The net result of his clear and unequivocal statement is that we must consider any scientific postulate emanating from Hawking flawed until proven true - were that possible. But, at this point, Hawking's "science" is the least of our concern. It is the state of his soul that we must focus in.
Let us not forget to pray for his conversion - it is our duty and responsibility.

In the first reading of the Mass.... we offered on October 15th, we found
the exact same messages that we have been repeating for years.
It was indeed consoling and reassuring reminder. The reading was from Ecclesiasticus (Sirach) 5:1-10
Of course, as we have pointed out in the past, God, Who is Love does not "take revenge" or is "wrathful". Those are figures of speech to help the stiff necked humans understand the messages. Yes, the consequences of our misdeeds are indeed terrible - in proportion to how grave they were - however, just as we cannot call the Law of Gravity vengeful when we fall and break a bone, we cannot call God vengeful and wrathful when the consequences of breaking Divine Law result in great harm to us. On the contrary, God will utilize such harm in the hopes that we "respond to His megaphone" and come back to Him.
It would actually be vengeful and wrathful of God if we were not informed of our transgression of Divine Law until it were too late to make the amends necessary and avoid hell or purgatory until the end of the world.
May this help you Evangelize those who come your way trying to justify whatever misdeed they want to justify. The End NEVER justifies the Means.

Tragically, religious fanatics of all faiths have used such teaching, or similar ones, to commit demonic atrocities. It is overwhelmingly obvious that Jesus was using those statements in a completely symbolic manner. When He refers to "enter into life", of course, He is referring Eternal Life, His Everlasting Kingdom wherein our bodies have been glorified. In such state physical handicaps - the loss of an arm or a foot or an eye - do not exist.
What He is telling us is that we must make a concerted effort to deactivate any trait that we may have that would lead us to sin; most specially grave sin.
However, when He said, within the same breath: ...whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea. He was not using symbolism.
Although the transgressor will not have a millstone hung around his neck and be pushed into the sea, the final consequences of "scandalizing one of those little ones that believe in Him" will be worse. That is what He is highlighting.
It seems that the clergy - of any Christian faith - prone to sexually abuse members of their flock, as well as their enabling superiors, missed that part of the New Testament. Actually, the did not. They do not believe in what the preach just for profit.

We should keep very much in mind..... the following teachings from the Book of Ecclesiasticus (Sirach), ch. 6, read at a recent Mass.
There are so many very important teachings in the above quote that if we were to underscore them practically the who text would be underscored.
It amazes me how so many souls seek Oriental Wisdom - be it Confucius or Veda writings or, etc., etc., not - to mention the daily Horoscope - when our Holy Scriptures are full of the finest wisdom on Earth. This is an obvious fallout of a failed Evangelization effort.

Divine Law - which is what Jesus has been trying to teach us for almost 2000 years - applies to all of His Creation. Didn't He say: "....your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust." [Matthew 5:45]
Think about it! What if the Chinese are utilizing the sun and the rain better than we are?
Divine Law - which is what Jesus has been trying to teach us for almost 2000 years - applies to all of His Creation. Didn't He say: "....your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust." [Matthew 5:45]
Think about it! What if the Chinese are utilizing the sun and the rain better than we are?
It is amazing how God manages to confirm to His children concepts that may be difficult to grasp by most humans.

If one had consciously set out to create a prayer that would sum up in its words the repentance of post-Shoah Christianity - an invocation that would communicate the contrition of Jesus' followers for centuries of anti-Semitic words and actions - one could hardly have expressed that intention so eloquently or with such evident, broken-hearted passion as in the following lines attributed to Pope John XXIII:

There are so many very important teachings in the above quote that if we were to underscore them practically the who text would be underscored.
It amazes me how so many souls seek Oriental Wisdom - be it Confucius or Veda writings or, etc., etc., not - to mention the daily Horoscope - when our Holy Scriptures are full of the finest wisdom on Earth. This is an obvious fallout of a failed Evangelization effort.

As you may recall from our The Time Line of the Creation Story - From Its Beginning to Its End (1), the human world population originated in Africa many thousands of years ago. This is a reality which, as we have amply shown, does not take away an ounce of validity from the Biblical Texts.
Now then, would it not be ironic that it were from Africa that a plague which could decimate most of the world population would emerge?
Of course - God has many options as to how the Chastisement (2) will come to pass but the Ebola option - or its major contribution - would certainly be striking through its symbolism.

which seemed to have flagged only a few days ago.
miguel de Portugal comments: We wonder how many people have realized that if the people's Republic of China gives in to the Hong Kong protesters, similar protests will spring up around the Chinese mainland bringing down the system they have carefully worked at building?
Viewing it realistically - the PRC leadership may soon realize that it may be easier to deal with the West's criticism of their actions than to allow the protesters to win, no matter how many lives it may cost.
Let us pray that the protesters see the light and cool down before they are unable to see anything anymore. China will not surrender unless God Wills it and we do not see that in the proverbial cards right now.

We have received a letter from a long time reader in response to our concern reagrding the "tough times" he alluded of going through in a private communication to us. Because of our respect to his privacy we will not publish his letter, however, for his benefit and that of our other readers and their list members we will address the situation here in general terms.
70 year old Mr. X's problems are:
Some of our other readers - and/or those in their lists - may be experiencing similar physical and spiritual onslaught. The way we see this - and similar situations - is for what it is: A demonic attack where satan is "pulling all the stops" in order to break the victim soul.
As we approach the climax of the chastisement-side of the End of These Times, satan is trying to cause as much harm as he can on the souls of the Elect. As we have explained before, he cannot cause a soul to end in hell but he can certainly cause them misery in Time and a very long stay in Purgatory.
When one find oneself in a similar situation, the first thing one is made to forget is precisely the first line of defense.
First you must remember that....
God sends the heaviest crosses to those He calls His own,
And the bitterest drops of the chalice are reserved for His friends alone.
But the blood red drops are precious, and the crosses are all gain,
For Joy is bought with Sacrifice, and the price of love is Pain.
But what is the source/purpose of the trials and suffering? How can we be sure of it? This is not a problem when we remember a certain Pearl of Divine Wisdom.
I pray to God that all who need to act upon what we have just shared with our readers do so for the benefit of their souls and the benefit of many, many other souls.

Suffering, which is not required (a) to move and/or encourage a suffering individual to
return to the right path; or (b) because God needs our suffering, to be used by virtue of the
Communion of Saints, to assist other souls in their redemption, then, it is from satan trying to
drive the individual to despair.But what is the source/purpose of the trials and suffering? How can we be sure of it? This is not a problem when we remember a certain Pearl of Divine Wisdom.
As part of the communications associated with Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima the faithful were
informed not to seek additional mortification to offer to God, but to
offer/accept any and all difficulties that we encounter in
our daily lives for:
Love of Jesus, in reparation for the offenses committed
against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.
If we make that offering every time (many times a day if necessary) and we are the victim
of any negative event/situation - be it physical, spiritual, legal, financial, emotional,
spiritual - it really does not matter the reason - (a), (b) or satanic attack - because
whatever the situation is remedy is on its way.
If the source of the misery is satan trying to drive you to despair, the moment you start
converting such misery into a manifestation of your love for Jesus, acts of reparation to the
Immaculate Heart of Mary and an instrument for the conversion of poor sinners, you have, in
essence, turned the tables on satan and he will be the first one to make sure that your misery
comes to an end. It is just pure theo-mathematics!
If it is allowed by God for purposes (a) and/or (b), then: (a) ask Him to help you see quickly
what is what you need to change in your life; and/or (b) if for the benefits of others, ask Him to
sustain you until he has finished using you as an expiatory victim soul.
Believe me - it is that simple, but only if you believe and follow the procedure that we have
outlined.
Why I am so sure? Because I have lived it and still live it!
Whether bankruptcy, or almost losing my house back in the eighties because I not even had $140 to
make a late mortgage payment, or not being even able to sleep because of pain, or having a brain
tumor/cyst, as I do, or seeing my children souls intoxicated (1) with the
venom their mother continues to spew even after almost 30 years, God prevails if we "dance to His
music"!
The tune of His music is set by Jesus through John:
If any one love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and
we will come to him, and will make our abode with him. [John 14:23]
In the case of demonic attacks, the remedy could be enhanced as follows.
(A) Offer the prayer of St. Michael several times a day with a slight modification as
indicated below highlighted in italic.

me in the day of battle. Be
my safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the
devil. May God rebuke him I humbly pray and do thou o
prince of The Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell satan and all evil spirits who

(B) Offer an ongoing Chaplet of St. Michael (2) with the following
modification:
Instead of making all nine invocations every day, just make a different invocation every day while
offering all other prayers while changing the pronoun form plural to singular as shown in the
following example:

Choir of Seraphim, may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity.

Are you aware that.... the following reading from the Gospel of Matthew....

....is quite coherent with what Sister (now Saint) Faustina was told regarding the Second Coming of Christ?

Him who will come, not as a merciful Saviour, but as a just Judge. Oh, how terrible is that day!

There will indeed be a sign but the scenario will be as it was in Fatima on October 13th. At that
time the Sun suddenly appeared to be hurdling down upon the 70,000 spectators who, filled

We should encourage everyone not to wait for that moment and start making amends with God NOW!
Remember, the issue here is not Heaven or Hell. As we have clearly explained, that has been determined already. The issue here is how much suffering can be averted while still being alive and the length of the stay in Purgatory. A few days or months in Purgatry cannot be compared with being in it until the end of the world as one of Lucia's friends will be. And yes, Purgatory is indeed a reality!

miguel de Portugal comments: Perhaps such law should be first applied on those passing it since the law is indeed un-Islamic. They are making any citizen judge and executioner of their fanatic interpretation of the Qur'an.
If they passed a law determining the length of the skirt of a woman, or prohibiting them to wear sleeveless tops or wear closed toe shoe and, subject them to a fine properly assesed by local recognized authorities for their violation, we would not have a problem with that. That is their country and their ruling faith, but this free-for-all "law" is a disgrace and stains the Holy Qur'an.
We wonder how they would react if the Western countries would pass a law expelling - regardless of citizenship - anyone who would act in an "un-Western" way?

Since I had read the book prior to reading your commentary, I was familiar with the Image you referred to. I admit your comment about the Image being accurate stirred my interest to find out more about it.

Do not forget that.... an indulgence, applicable only to the Souls in

....must be tempered by subjecting to His Will whatever it is that we are asking for, otherwise
the result may be disastrous for the asking soul.
Remember- just because we want something does not make it automatically a wise choice. Only God knows what is perfect and He has given us the opportunity to benefit from such perfection just by deferring to His Will in whatever we ask for.

The State Department denies plan.
A memo obtained by Fox News indicates the Obama administration has been considering allowing non-American Ebola patients into the U.S. for treatment – though a State Department official on Tuesday denied any such plans.
The document was obtained by Fox News from a Capitol Hill source, who said it is a memo prepared by the State Department. The top of the document (2) is marked "sensitive but unclassified – pre-decisional (sic)."
miguel de Portugal comments: From a scientist's point of view such an idea is sheer insanity.
From a political point of view, such idea is political suicide.
If this is indeed true we would not be surprised if the Republicans get an overwhelming majority in both Houses in the next election, effectively neutralizing the remainder of Mr. Obama's dis-Administration.
