Change
is indeed knocking.... at our
doors....
[our underscoring]
According to three studies
released in the United States on Tuesday, experts believe the familiar
sunspot cycle may be shutting down and heading toward a pattern of
inactivity unseen since the 17th century.
"This
is highly unusual and unexpected," said Frank Hill, associate director
of the NSO's Solar Synoptic Network, as the findings of the three
studies were presented at the annual meeting of the American
Astronomical Society's Solar Physics Division in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
"But
the fact that three completely different views of the Sun point in the
same direction is a powerful indicator that the sunspot cycle may be
going into hibernation."
Solar
activity tends to rise and fall every 11 years or so. The solar maximum
and solar minimum each mark about half the interval of the magnetic
pole reversal on the Sun, which happens every 22 years.
Hill
said the current cycle, number 24, "may be the last normal one for some
time and the next one, cycle
25, may not happen for some time.
"This
is important because the solar cycle causes space weather which affects
modern technology and may contribute to climate change," he told
reporters.
Experts
are now probing whether this
period of inactivity could be a second Maunder Minimum, which was a
70-year period when hardly any sunspots were observed between
1645-1715, a period known as the "Little
Ice Age." (2)

Did
you hear that... the
story about an American-Syrian lesbian, which "gripped the world" via
all those new social-networking disinformation tools, was indeed a
hoax?
(1)
Six days after a post on the blog A Gay
Girl in Damascus triggered panic among its readers by suggesting that
the blog's author, who claimed to be a Syrian-American lesbian caught
up in the protest movement, had been detained in the Syrian capital, a
new entry appeared on Sunday that described the entire online diary as
a work of fiction by an American man.
He got the idea to start a blog in the guise of his character, he said,
when a Web site called Lez Get Real published two long comments about
Syria that he had submitted in Amina's name in February. That Web site
published a long apology on Friday, explaining that its editors had
helped to start the Gay Girl in Damascus blog. In the comment thread
beneath that apology, one of the editors of the site explained that the
blogger's 135 contributions to Lez Get Real in recent months had all
seemed to come from computers located in Scotland, not Syria. Mr.
MacMaster moved to Scotland from the U.S. last year to study history.

Foundation comments: We cannot emphasize strongly enough the
need to be very watchful as to what one believes - especially regarding
matters that will influence your faith and world view, consciously or
unconsciously.
Two days ago, there was a claim that McDonald's was surcharging African
Americans (2) who
came in to any of their stores for security reasons.
Do not forget that a major daily paper in Portugal (a small media
outlet by world standards) even fooled NASA into changing flight
schedules. (3)
Our readers should consider this a training period on how to better
interact with the Holy Spirit of God. Otherwise, they will fall for the
Last Snare and accept the False Christ as the real Saviour.

It looks like.... we
have come across an Opus Dei version of a female religious group.
(1)
[our underscoring]
María José Berzosa was 18
years old when she decided to
leave her studies in medicine to enter a cloistered life with the
Clarissa nuns at a convent in Lerma, Burgos, an order which is devoted
to prayer, penance and contemplation and is seen as one of the most
austere orders of the Roman Catholic Church. She was the first novice
to enter the convent for 23 years.
She took the name of Sor Verónica and later became novice
mistress and, by the time Sor Verónica became mother superior of
the St Clare convent, while other Clarissa convents in Spain had not
taken in any new novices for many years, the community had grown to
such an extent that it had taken over the San Pedro Regalado Franciscan
monastery in La Aguilera and had more than 180 nuns.
This vocational boom has been described as 'the miracle of Lerma'. Two
other Clarissa convents are meanwhile now empty of nuns and are to be
sold to the state to be converted into Paradors.
On February 12, 2011, at the age of 44, Sor Verónica became the
leader of a new congregation, when the Clarissa nuns of Lerma became
members of the order which was founded by Sor Verónica - the
religious institute 'Jesu Communio'.
The institute was approved by Benedict XVI in December 2010, and the
Vatican's representative in Spain, the Papal Nuncio, Renzo Fratini, was
at the Cathedral in Burgos on Saturday afternoon to witness the birth
of the new religious institute when the 181 former Clarissa nuns
reaffirmed their vows.
Many of them gave up their
university studies to enter the cloistered
life and, with the exception of Sor Verónica, none is
over the
age of 40. Generally brought up in cities and from middle class
families, they are seen as followers of the new evangelisation called
for by Pope John Paul II. Público reports that many belong to
neo-conservative groups such as the Neocatechumenal Way, Communion and
Liberation, and Opus Dei.
The youth of the new order is reflected in the denim fabric which has
been chosen for their habit.
The ceremony was presided by the Archbishop of Burgos, Francisco Gil
Hellín, with the Archbishop of Pamplona, Francisco Pérez,
and the Bishop of Ciudad Rodrigo, Raúl Berzosa, who is the
brother of Sor Verónica. The President of the Spanish Episcopal
Conference, Antonio María Rouco Varela, was also there to
witness the event.
The M+G+R
Foundation comments: After reviewing several articles from her
native country (in Spanish), we have no doubt that indeed she has
"mothered" the Opus Dei version of female religious group - pious
arrogance included.
Her brother, a very young
and intellectual Spanish Bishop, is very Opus
Dei friendly, if not a full-fledged member himself.´
The above information is
shared with our readers as a matter of
interest and nothing else. The "wheels are already turning", their
function is well defined, and those who read our pages should have been
warned years ago about them.

I have a question about the headline which reads:
ROME
HAS LOST THE FAITH
AND
WILL SOON BECOME THE SEAT OF THE
FALSE CHRIST
This is what
we
announced on March 19, 2002......and of course it did.
I thought that what has already happened is that Rome became the seat
of the Anti Christ with the "election" of Ratzinger ... and that the
manifestation of the False Christ is still in the future.
Was I wrong ... or is the False Christ already "seated" somewhere in
Rome?
IW
A. We praise God and
Thank you! for your
alertness. We made an error when typing in the exact quote.
As may be seen in the document, we were quoting Melanie Calvat.
(3)
"The seasons will be altered,
the earth will produce nothing
but bad fruit, the stars will lose their regular motion, the moon will
only reflect a faint reddish glow. Water and fire will give the earth's
globe convulsions and terrible earthquakes which will swallow up
mountains, cities, etc..
"Rome will lose the faith and
become the seat of
the Antichrist.
"The demons of the
air together
with the Antichrist will
perform great wonders on earth and in the atmosphere, and men will
become more and more perverted. God will take care of his faithful
servants and men of good will. The Gospel will be preached everywhere,
and all peoples of all nations will get to know the truth.
Obviously it is our typographical error, since we have had the
differentiation of the AntiChrist and False Christ clear for quite some
time, and she is speaking of the real AntiChrist. In the secret of
LaSalette, the False Christ makes his appearance later in the
message....
"Now is the time, the abyss is
opening. Here is the king of
kings of darkness, here is the Beast with his subjects, calling himself
the Savior of the world. He will rise proudly into the air to
go to
Heaven. He will be smothered by the breath of the Archangel Saint
Michael. He will fall, and the earth, which will have been in a
continual series of evolutions for three days, will open up its
fiery bowels; and he will have plunged for eternity with all his
followers into the everlasting chasms of hell. And then water and fire
will purge the earth and consume all the works of men's pride and all
will be renewed. God will be served and glorified."
As we have said elsewhere, it is in the Secret of La Salette where we
found the confirmation of what we knew otherwise regarding the two
distinct
individuals: The AntiChrist (4)
and The False Christ (5).

Did
you know that... Ayn Rand, novelist and
conservative political thinker, has an impassioned following among some
of today’s Republicans? (1)
They
embrace her defense of laissez-faire capitalism and individualism. In
many respects, she is the godmother of all libertarians.
Our readers may ask: Who cares?
What makes this worthy of mention? Read
on....
What
some put aside, however, is the inconvenient fact that she was also an outspoken atheist.
A group of left-leaning
Christians have decided to make an issue of this disconnect, putting some leading Republicans on
the spot about the woman
they think of as an intellectual hero.
A new political ad, created
by the faith-based advocacy group American Values Network (AVN) and
provocatively titled “Ayn Rand & GOP vs. Jesus,” attempts to drive
a wedge into the Republican coalition by drawing attention to Rand’s
anti-religious rhetoric. The ad is directed primarily at Rep. Paul
Ryan, the Wisconsin Republican whose budget plan was championed by
Republicans and decried as overly austere by Democrats.
And while observers say that
efforts to use the admiration that Ryan and others have expressed for
Rand to sow discontent in the party’s conservative Christian base will
gain little traction, there are some signs that Democratic groups like
AVN are not the only religious Christians focusing on Rand.
Martin E. Marty, a prominent professor of the history of modern
Christianity at the University of Chicago Divinity School, has also
written recently on Rand and the acceptance of her ideas by some
Christian conservatives.
“I don’t know anybody,
including the well-known circle of atheists, that has been more overt,
open and blunt in their denunciation of religion and also Christianity,”
Marty told the Forward. “That’s just a puzzle to me that it’s just so
overt, and yet they can sort of slice it out and say you can be selfish
all you want, but it has nothing to do with your faith.”

Anonymous is made up of
people from various countries organized into cells that share common

One of the three

Spain in 1912, and served
for a time in the Nationalist (Franco) army toward the end of the
Spanish Civil War. He was ordained in 1944, and had been part of
Opus Dei starting in 1941.
The process is called
“opening the cause for canonization” and is the formal opening of an
inquiry as to whether Father Muzqiz is worthy of canonization.
Muzquiz was critical in bringing Opus Dei to the US from Spain, and
worked in Boston for many years.
He was also critical in
establishing Opus Dei centers in Canada, Japan and Venezuela. He
was also instrumental in getting Opus Dei founder Father Josemaria

If you wonder what kind of money moved in the "smut business", take a
look at the following quote from Financial News, 20th October
2010 :
[our underscoring]
The storied domain
name sex.com is set to be sold for $13m, The Register has
learned. ..... The price then was variously reported as being between
$12m and $14m, making it one of the most expensive domains of all
time.
..... Sex.com is a domain with history. Originally registered by
entrepreneur Gary Kremen in 1994, it was soon hijacked by convicted
conman Stephen Cohen. The theft was challenged in court, but it took
Kremen five years to recover the domain, during which time Cohen was
reportedly making up to
$500,000 a month from
advertising on the site. (2)
The M+G+R Foundation comments: There is far more to the
obsession with smut than may meet the casual eye. A well developed and
healthy
sexuality is the greatest deterrent to degenerate sexual tastes and
obsessions. A thwarted or distorted sexuality is the greatest ally to
satan, thus, to
the smut business. In spite of that, one school of psychiatrists
recommends
use of pornography to improve marital (and non-marital) sexual
relations.
Just more "fruit" from the tree of the completely failed
Evangelization. But it is never too late....
If anyone who may read this page suffers from the onslaught caused by
the demons of thwarted or distorted sexuality, do not forget: All
is possible for, or with, God. He can, and will, through the
intercessions of the Immaculate One, restore (or provide, even if it is
for the first time), a healthy sexuality in accordance with your
current state of life.

reassuring
in these confused times.
Personally,
(A) I am
finding it harder and harder to fit in to the world in its current
state and do not accept that this is how things should be.
I am
becoming more and more isolated and cut off from the people and the
environment around me as it becomes more and more alien to me (and me
to them/it).
I know love is the only way, but it is becoming increasingly difficult
with those I love who do not wish to hear or see, and continue down the
road of consumption and denial.

I thank you for being a shining light in these times.

The more one (truly) becomes of God the less one is of the world. At
this point in my journey as m de P, the world - as is - holds
absolutely nothing that could possibly be of interest to me with the
exception of the souls who are expecting their call to awake to Him;
the only reason m de P exists.
Regarding "
it is becoming increasingly difficult with those I love
who do not wish
to hear or see, and continue down the road of consumption and denial"
-
we could write the proverbial book on that; therefore, we fully
understand how you feel.
No, it is not easy, but all we can do for them is pray on their
behalf. In this type of situation, prayer on their behalf is the
ultimate manifestation of Love.
Love is our burning desire that a soul sees the Light and makes the
right move as the Prodigal son did
(1). Thus the "love thy
enemy, pray for thy persecutor"
[Matt.
5:44], exhortations from Jesus. Love does not mean that
we want to spend
time with someone who is completely out of tune with our God-enhanced
Reality.
Love is our desire
for their spiritual betterment, and then act upon it through
prayer and example.
For a concrete example of that: As of late we have been offering many
prayers
for
Mexicans; no, not the victims of the drug wars - although they are
included in other global prayers we offer for those who die sudden and
violent deaths - we pray for the criminals, the murderers and the drug
lords
since only God can
change them. No government, no security forces, no threats can
or ever
will.
So, you see - you are on the right track, moving on the right
direction, at a beautiful and encouraging rate and getting very close
where He wants you to be.
Thank you for the opportunity to address this critical issue for the
benefit of many.

in latest "hack attack", hackers stole Citibank card data? (1)
[our underscoring]
About 200,000 Citibank credit card
customers in North America have had their names, account numbers
and email addresses stolen by hackers who broke into Citi's online
account site.
Citigroup Inc. said it discovered that account information
for about 1 percent of its credit card customers had been viewed by
hackers. Citi has more than 21 million credit card customers in North
America, according to its 2010 annual report. The New York-based bank,
which discovered the problem during routine monitoring, didn't say exactly how many
accounts were breached. Citi said it was contacting those
customers.
The bank said
hackers weren't able to gain access to social security numbers, birth
dates, card expiration dates or card security codes. That kind
of information often leads to identity theft, where cyber criminals
empty out bank accounts and apply for multiple credit cards.
The

how many Citibank customers - or anyone, for that matter - believes the
attack is actually limited in scope and customer exposure, no matter
what Citibank claims.

According
to the press in Spain... the cost of the upcoming
youth gathering with Ratzinger in Madrid next August will be over 70
million US dollars.
This cost does not include
the travel cost to Spain of over 300,000 foreign youths, nor their
lodging/sustenance while in Spain. It only includes the cost associated
with his trip and that of his entourage, plus all arrangements for the
various associated activities in Madrid.
The Spanish taxpayers have been advised that neither the State nor
Madrid will be paying for any of this. The funding will come as
follows: 70 % will be paid by the participants and 30 % will be paid by
businesses friendly to this kind of operation.
The M+G+R Foundation comments:
No one really knows how many people are
malnourished. The statistic most frequently cited is that of the United
Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, which measures
'undernutrition'. The most recent estimate,
(1) released in
October 2010 by FAO, says that
925 million people are undernourished. As the figure below shows, the
number of hungry people has increased since 1995-97, though the number
is down from last year. The increase has been due to three factors: 1)
neglect of agriculture relevant to very poor people by governments and
international agencies; 2) the current worldwide economic crisis, and
3) the significant increase of food prices in the last several years,
which has been devastating to those with only a few dollars a day to
spend. 925 million people is 13.6 percent of the estimated world
population of 6.8 billion. Nearly all of the undernourished are in
developing countries.

God has revealed to me additional and more disturbing information about what we will

It is precisely for the same reason that Lucía did not want the

not make public this information at this time - even though we have
shared it, on a "for the record purposes" basis, with no more than five

From
miguel de Portugal
As Ratzinger
concludes his visit to Croatia, which shares
a
border with Bosnia-Herzegovina and is a scant few miles from
Medjugorje, we thought it appropriate to talk again about Medjugorje.
Back in January 10, 2010, when expressing our disapproval about the
Viennese Cardinal Schönborn's visit to Medjugorje (1) we wrote:
. We remind
our readers about our position about Medjugorje:
It
was from God at the
beginning, but when it was turned into just another business to be
exploited using the Holy Names of Mary and Jesus, it was no more.
That is why we say that we agree with the local Bishops at the
beginning - when it was accepted as being from God - and also
afterwards - when it was denied as a farce.
The man who became miguel de Portugal visited Medjugorje in
the second
half of the eighties, and it was not until he broke away from the
tourist scene which pervaded the whole area that he reestablished
contact with the supernatural which could be felt in that once holy
village.
But before "we get misty eyed", let us have a reality check
about that
"stream of graces" which allegedly flows from Medjugorje.
What was one of the first teachings that Mary imparted at
the very
beginning? On July 21, 1982, She is reported to have said (and repeated
frequently):
"Through
fasting and prayer, one can stop wars, one can suspend the laws of
nature." (2)
It was in 1987 - six years after the first Marian
manifestation - when
the winds of war started to blow in the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia (3)
- where Medjugorje was located. Essentially the Milosevic era started,
and the rest is history... a bloody war history still being worked out
in the
World Tribunal at The Hague.
Then we must pose the following: Either
Mary lied or the millions upon
millions that visited Medjugorje prior to the Milosevic era were no
more than religious tourists who took home with them little more than
their dirty laundry and a few souvenirs.
Of course Mary did not lie! What She said is true and we
know it (not
believe it, but know it from much actual practice). Obviously, as we
have seen far too many times, once home most the new "converts" were
only converted....
to Religious Tourism! Prayer, fasting (if they even tried it!) and
sacrifice came to almost a standstill.
The same story with Kibeho, Africa. (4)
Mary appeared there in 1981, and it was approved in 1982.
One of the
visionaries saw: "A river of blood, people who killed
one
another, abandoned bodies with no one to bury them, a tree on fire, an
open
chasm, a monster and decapitated heads."
This awful vision was the only one of
its kind. In the rest of the apparitions, Our
Lady, who had dark skin, encouraged the young women to pray, fast, and
do
penance.
Thirteen years later the world was shocked with the Rwandan genocide.
Why did it happen? After all,
obviously Mary had tried to avert it.
It happened for the same reason as with the situation in
Yugoslavia/Medjugorje - Talk
is cheap and easy; Fasting, Prayer and Sacrifice, although free, are
hard and require devotional discipline.
The bottom line, brethren, is that the Vatican could not care less
about what is going on as long as the Faithful have something to
entertain themselves with, so that they will not pay attention to the
less-than-holy
activities of
the Church Administration like the
preparation for the False Second
Coming.
In conclusion: Cardinal or no Cardinal; Benedict or no
Benedict; Church
Administration or no Church Administration; Apparitions or no
Apparitions - either
the Faithful quit talking and start praying and
fasting in earnest or Divine Mercy will be unattainable for
most.
Do you think our words are harsh? Not at all when compared
with what
God
will allow (allow, not cause)
upon humanity to wake up the
few who need to be
awakened.

When
m de P prays.... "May
God have Mercy on His Elect", or
invokes a
prayer upon His Elect, it is primarily rooted on the Gospel according
to
John, Ch. 17:
[our underscoring]
[6] I
have manifested thy name to the men whom thou hast given me out of the
world. Thine they were, and to me thou gavest them; and they have kept
thy word. [7] Now they have known, that all things which thou hast
given me, are from thee: [8] Because the words which thou gavest me, I
have given to them; and they have received them, and have known in very
deed that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst
send me. [9] I pray for
them: I pray not for the world, but for them whom thou hast given me:
because they are thine: [10]
And all my things are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in
them.
[11] And now I am
not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep
them in thy name whom thou has given me; that they may be one, as we
also are. [12] While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those
whom thou gavest me have I kept; and none of them is lost, but the son
of perdition, that the scripture may be fulfilled. [13] And now I come
to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my
joy filled in themselves. [14] I have given
them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of
the world; as I also am not
of the world. [15] I pray not
that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst
keep them from evil. [16] They are not
of the world, as I also am not of the world.
Nonetheless, we are not to label
people, nor to point fingers, nor to guess who are part of the Elect
(1) (thus, of God).
Appearances are quite deceiving. A quick look at the Church
Administration will confirm that.
However, a good general gauge that we can use when determining who to
associate with, may also be found in the Scriptures:
[34]
And looking round about on them who sat about him, he saith: Behold my
mother and my brethren. [35] For whosoever shall do the will of God, he is my brother, and my sister, and mother. [Mark 3]
To "Do
the Will of God" does not mean "Talk
about the Will of God" . Talk was, is and will ever be "Cheap".
However, as we have underscored many times with full authority from God
(2), we can add
an otherwise invisible phrase to that verse: For whosoever shall [strive with
all his heart to] do the will of God, he is
my brother, and my sister, and mother.
You may have also read that....
[47] ....that servant who knew the
will of his lord, and prepared not himself, and did not according to
his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. [48] But he that knew not,
and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And
unto whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required: and to
whom they have committed much, of him they will demand the more.
[Luke 12]
The reading "And
unto whomsoever much is given, of him
much shall be required" may cause some discomfort thus it
needs to be understood under the
following light.
If you place the best Filet Mignon before a starving toddler and he
dies of starvation because he is still incapable of eating it, nothing
will be required from the toddler, but much will be required from
whomever was careless
enough not to realize that, even in the simple matter of eating, there
is a learning process.
Remember....
[80]
And the child (John the Baptist) grew, and was strengthened in spirit; and
was in the deserts until the day of his manifestation to Israel. [Luke 1]
and
[39]
And after they had performed all things according to the law of the
Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their city Nazareth. [40] And the
child (Jesus) grew, and waxed
strong, full of wisdom; and the grace of God was in him. [Luke 2]
So, children of God, don't despair;
never give up!
(1)
As the saying goes "keep plugging along"
(2) because, if
your heart is in the right place, He is right at your side helping you
with every breath you take while you are trying to do the Will of God.
We simply could not give you any better news than this.

From
(Mr.) WG @ Canada
Although I in no way agree with your stated claims that the 'catholic'
faith contains the 'most' truth…. including the stated 'dogmas' of
Catholicism… I noticed that in your treatment on 'papal
infallibility'…. you refer to it as meaning the pope cannot be wrong or
mistaken in ANYTHING he says/does.
It’s been MY understanding…. that the concept specifically limits it to
when he addresses ALL the faithful, on matters of 'faith and
morals'…..thus….your categorization seems to constitute a 'straw man'
argument…. the easier to demolish…. but somewhat false in its
formulation.
WG
A. It seems that
you have misread/misunderstood what was written regarding
both issues.
Regarding "...your stated claims that the 'catholic'
faith contains the 'most' truth…. including the stated 'dogmas' of
Catholicism"
Our exact wording regarding such matter is:
The Catholic Faith is
the one
Faith which has the greatest concentration of Divinely Revealed
Truths. By no means it has them all since God is the only
Plenitude of Truth, but no other Faith has as many Truths in its
Spiritual Treasury as the Catholic Faith. (1)
miguel de Portugal is in the position to make that assertion without
any doubts, but, as we have stated elsewhere
(2):
Should
you believe what miguel de
Portugal says through the pages of
The M+G+R Foundation? You do not have to believe it. What is
written is only
for those who
have Eyes to see and have Ears to hear. Woe to miguel if he does not
speak
loud and clear. Nothing has
changed in the manner in which God has communicated
with His children in the last 6,000 years.
Regarding the issue about infallibility you state :"
It’s been MY understanding…. that the
concept specifically limits it to
when he addresses ALL the faithful, on matters of 'faith and
morals'…..thus….your categorization seems to constitute a 'straw man'
argument…. the easier to demolish…. but somewhat false in it's
formulation."
As in the opening part
(3)
of our document
(4)
shows, you are technically correct; the Vatican I decree "
makes it clear that the scope of this
authority is limited; it applies to a Papal definition of doctrine on
faith and morals, intended to be binding on all".
However, there is a
real problem with "creeping infallibility": the effort on the part of
the Vatican and its propagandists to cloak the Papacy with
(unjustified) total infallibility, or even with impeccability.
Quoting from our document on infallibility
(4):
2.
The Vatican
has given the doctrine of infallibility a very wide interpretation, so
as to cover almost any Papal teachings with the mantle of infallibility.
Pope John Paul II said in 1993:
"Alongside
this infallibility of ex cathedra definitions, there is the charism of
the Holy Spirit's assistance, granted to Peter and his successors so
that they would not err in matters of faith and morals, but rather shed
great light on the Christian people. This charism is not limited to
exceptional cases, but embraces in varying degrees the whole exercise
of the Magisterium. ... We will close by noting that the
exercise of the Magisterium is a concrete expression of the Roman
Pontiff's contribution to the development of the Church's teaching."
Therefore, as article 2037 of the 1994
Catechism of the Catholic Church says:
"The
law of God entrusted to the Church is taught to the faithful as the way
of life and truth. ... They have the duty of observing the
constitutions and decrees conveyed by the legitimate authority of the
Church. Even if they concern disciplinary matters, these determinations
call for docility in charity."
In other words, the Vatican
says the faithful are to obey all teachings issued by the
Catholic Church, in matters of discipline as well as in faith and
morals.
...
The Vatican
now extends its claim of infallibility even to the canonization of
saints. A 1997 decree by Ratzinger's Congregation
for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) says that "truths connected to
revelation by historical necessity and which are to be held
definitively" by Catholics include "the canonizations of saints
(dogmatic facts)."[8]
;;;
If this ruling means what it says,
those who deny that the founder of Opus Dei is a saint are out of
communion with Rome.
Meanwhile, there's the counter-example of Joan of Arc, who was
burned as a heretic in 1431, found innocent in a Church re-trial in
1456, and canonized in 1920.
3.
In conjunction with this new doctrine on
Papal authority, the trend since Pius IX has been to promote the Pope
as a living icon and a media star, and to make him the center of
Catholicism.
...
4.
With the media-star status of current
Popes goes encouragement of adulation of the Pope, and uncritical
support for his teachings and actions.
Catholic apologist Patrick Madrid
says: "We call the Pope 'The Holy Father' because he extends heaven's
paternal presence." He adds, "The Lord kept His promise
to be with the Church always, and this promise has been kept, par
excellence, in the office of the Papacy."
Madrid describes St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican as "the universal focal point of the Christian
religion"-
even though the Basilica was funded, in part, by the sale of
indulgences. (It was these sales, directed by
Julius II and Leo X, that sparked Luther's protest in 1517).
In the conclusion of his book-length defense of the
Papacy against its critics, Madrid
says that Peter "was the first in a two-thousand-year line of bishops
of Rome who stand at the
center of the Christian Church. In a sense you can
say the popes are its center." (Do you see
the bait-and-switch being done: the substitution of a human ruler for
God as the head and center of the Church?)
What Madrid
says, many have echoed- including the current Pope. On
the day after his election, Benedict XVI
told the Cardinals that during "the death and the funeral of the
lamented John Paul II ... the entire world looked to him with trust. To
many it seemed as if that intense participation, amplified to the
confines of the planet by the social communications media, was like a
choral request for help addressed to the pope by modern humanity which,
wracked by fear and uncertainty, questions itself about the future."
Ratzinger
seemed to put himself forward as the one to answer that "request for
help," by reason of his election by God to the Papacy:
"If the weight of the responsibility that
now lies on my poor shoulders is enormous, the divine power on which I
can count is surely immeasurable: 'You are Peter and on this rock I
will build my Church.' Electing me as the Bishop of Rome, the Lord
wanted me as his Vicar, he wished me to be the 'rock' upon which
everyone may rest with confidence."
These, indeed, are new teachings!
Who knew that "everyone may rest with confidence" in the
God-appointed Bishop of Rome, or that the mass interest in the funeral
of John Paul II constituted a "choral request for help addressed to the
pope by modern humanity"
Thank you for the opportunity to make these points crystal clear should
anyone else misunderstand our position and/or intent.

(3) Popes
– supported by the Councils of the Roman Catholic Church – have claimed
to teach infallibly on matters of faith and morals.
This claim was written into Roman Catholic dogma in 1870, with
the decree Pastor Aeternus by the First Vatican
Council.
The text of the Vatican
I decree on papal infallibility makes it clear that the scope of
this
authority is limited; it applies to a Papal definition of
doctrine on
faith and morals, intended to be binding on all:
