PURPOSE

The purpose of this News Commentary Section is to assist the faithful in recognizing the signs and lies of These End Times. Somehow, many self appointed Shepherds of These Times are trying to convince the faithful that the Apocalypse will be, using street slang, "a piece of cake" for them and "hell" for all others. They are led to believe that if they "do this" and "do that" they do not have a thing to worry about (of course, so long as that between the "do this" and the "do that" they send in a donation).

Others lead the faithful to believe that "All Is Well" and will continue to be, of course, as long as those donations keep coming in...

After cows' feet fall apart, feedlot drug is questioned. (1)

It's no surprise that America's cattle are pumped full of pharmaceuticals, but Reuters digs in to one particular drug - a muscle-building feed additive known as Zilmax that's manufactured by Merck and has been available in the US since 2007 - whose alleged ill effects may be painfully visible.

Using Department of Agriculture documents, Reuters pieces together what happened in early August at a Washington state slaughterhouse that serviced Tyson Foods, and reports on it publicly for the first time: Cattle were being trucked in, but some nearly couldn't make it off the ramps ... because their hooves had fallen off.

Seventeen of the creatures had to be put down over two days, and according to documents and Reuters' sources, all had taken Zilmax. (And a review of FDA documents shows 285 cattle have been confirmed dead or euthanized since 2007 after ingesting Zilmax.)

Their feet were "basically coming apart," says an animal science professor who was provided with photos of the affected cattle by an unnamed person. Tyson reacted quickly to the August incident, immediately saying it would no longer receive cattle that had taken Zilmax; other meatpackers followed suit, and Merck temporarily put all Zilmax sales on ice.

Scientists have yet to prove a link, and Merck insists in a statement to Reuters that "several third-party experts were brought in ... [and found] that the hoof loss was not due to the fact these animals had received Zilmax."

It's planning more "field evaluations" of Zilmax, which some feedlot owners have dubbed Vitamin Z for its ability to cheaply tack on 33 extra pounds of salable meat to a steer.

Merck says it has every intention of bringing Zilmax back to the market; US and Canadian sales of the drug hit $160 million in 2012. Click for Reuters' fullreport, which shares some theories as to what could be going wrong with cattle who take Zilmax; one is that the additive could worsen common feedlot nutritional disorders present in cattle whose diet contains too much starch.

miguel de Portugal comments: More of a warning than a reminder.

It is obvious that the cause and effect relationship is quite clear.

It is obvious that Merck will refuse to acknowledge it and will do whatever it takes to get Zilmax back on the market.

Besides helping humans gain unneeded weight, only God knows what else Zilmax and/or its derivatives do to humans.

Watch what you ingest!  Yes, time is short but the few left need to be in very good health!

Opus Dei to open visitors' center outside Jerusalem. (1)

Opus Dei, a Catholic institution made (in)famous by the 2003 mystery novel "The Da Vinci Code," will provide spiritual guidance to Christian pilgrims in a new visitors' complex being constructed outside Jerusalem.

Saxum, a project comprising a conference center and multimedia resource center, is located between Kibbutz Maaleh HaHamisha and the Arab village of Abu Ghosh, 15 kilometers (10 miles) west of Jerusalem.

Construction on the site began in 2013, and is scheduled for completion in 2015.

miguel de Portugal comments: One of the benefits I look forward to as Thes Times come to an end is not to have to hear about Opus Dei ever again!

Do notice that the center is supposed to provide spiritual guidance to Christian pilgrims - not just Catholics. It is obvious that they want to make sure that they drag to perdition as many souls as possible with their corrupt "theology".

When Drug Companies Are Hazardous To Your Health: Lifesaving Cancer Drug Bexxar Discontinued. (1)

These are the final days for Bexxar, a lifesaving cancer treatment that drug giant GlaxoSmithKline announced last summer would be discontinued on Feb. 20 because it wasn't earning the company enough money.

That harsh reality has begun to sink in for those who adamantly oppose GSK's decision to scrap this effective, safe, FDA-approved therapy for lymphoma, the nation's seventh most common cancer for men and women.

"As a corporate CEO, I understand that GSK might kill a drug that loses money, but what I don't understand is why they seemed to not be willing to make the modest investments required to make this lifesaving treatment a success," said Michael Werner, who runs several companies, is a lymphoma survivor, and sits on the board of directors for the Lymphoma Research Foundation, the nation's largest nonprofit dedicated to funding lymphoma research.

miguel de Portugal comments: Now, now, Mr. Werner.... if organized religion has made a very profitable business out of Salvation, where the financial bottom line is more important than the salvation of souls, why should anyone expect GSK to act differently? Obviosuly, they were well "evangelized"!

Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you go round about the sea and the land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, you make him the child of hell twofold more than yourselves. [Matthew 23:15]

Italy's Used Gold Brokerage Business - The Second-Largest In The World - Is Going Bust. (1)

The placards are still there, punctuating suburban thoroughfares, proclaiming in bold black text against a bright yellow background: "We Buy Gold."

But the signs, like the gold they advertise to buy, are increasingly relics themselves, because the shops where Italians once traded the precious metal for cash are largely empty, and many have closed.

Heavy losses caused by a proliferation of gold brokers, continuous gold depreciation and a sharp decline in the number of Italians willing to sell off their jewels has sent almost four in 10 gold-buying firms into bankruptcy, collapsing a business that once comprised 38,000 retailers and made Italy the second-largest supplier of scrap gold in the world, after the United States.

miguel de Portugal comments: I B Times' analyst missed the real cause. The poor people, a group that is increasing by bounds and leaps, and who are the ones who had to frequent those shops to, literally, be able to eat, are simply out of gold.... which was their last hope.

We have seen this in the Iberian peninsula (Portugal and Spain) and is the same everywhere. However, do not expect this to be announced in the main stream news. It is best to blame the dropping price of gold and the proverbial phase of the Moon and the global warming than the reality which reflects where the world is at now, financially speaking.

Gold has not reached it's 1980 historical peak price of $2,300/oz ($850/oz adjusted for inflation) yet, there was not a rush then to sell gold by the average individual. The highest gold price has reached recently was in the mid 2011 when it attained the $1,890/oz mark - $410/oz below its historical peak. In 1980 I was exclusively practicing my Gem and Jewelry profession and all we saw was the average customer buying lighter weigh gold jewelry to keep the price down but no rush to sell.

But then again, as a point of reference: In 1980 the US debt was only $2,578,696,022,727 (in 2012 dollars) while now it is $17,249,265,796,400. That is, 6.7 times what it was in 1980 expressed in the same dollar value.

Oregon man infected with the plague leaves ICU. (1)

Paul Gaylord, a welder from Prineville in rural Oregon, who last month contracted bubonic plague from a stray cat, is no longer in critical condition. After admission to the hospital, Gaylord lapsed into a coma for twenty-seven days, until last Friday.

While in a coma, his hands and legs swelled and turned black. The doctors told him that tests showed he was infected with the bubonic plague, and that his fingers will have to be amputated.

miguel de Portugal comments: Although we are very glad for Mr. Gaylord's improvement, the joy is not enough to cloud my vision regarding the source of his ailment: A stray cat.

Where is the cat? Where did the cat contract the bubonic plague? How many stray animals - rats included - are already infected? Are they limited to Prineville, Oregon?

(sarcasm on) Oh.... we should have known! Not to worry.... it was a stray cat that was abducted by a UFO where it contracted the Bubonic plague, but both cat and UFO have already sanitized by FEMA's branch that handles such affairs. (sarcasm off)

Funeral and casket outlets are heading to the mall. (1)

We eat there, buy our clothes there and some people suspect teenagers may actually live there. So perhaps it was just a matter of time until funeral homes began moving into the local shopping mall.

Over the past two years, Forest Lawn has been quietly putting movable kiosks in several of the malls that dot Southern California's suburbs.

The move, by one of the funeral industry's best known operators, expands on a marketing innovation that appears to have begun at the dawn of the decade when a company called Til We Meet Again began opening casket stores around the country.

miguel de Portugal comments: Considering the recent shoot outs in Malls, maybe that is not such a good idea.

The reign of the culture of death becomes more evident and most are oblivious to it.

Arizona lawmaker pushes measure to limit NSA operations in the state. (1)

Arizona State Senator Kelli Ward, a tea party Republican representing the Lake Havasu area, is pushing a bill in the State Senate which would impose limits on the ability of the NSA to operate in Arizona.

Among other things, prohibit local and state law enforcement officials from cooperating with the NSA and would prevent state or local prosecutors from using NSA-collected information which had not been obtained with a warrant. The bill would also withhold funds from state universities and colleges supporting the NSA with research or recruitment.

Legal scholars say the courts would in all likelihood strike down Ward’s measure because Arizona, in essence, is trying to regulate the federal government.

miguel de Portugal comments: A very transparent tactic to garner votes from the ultra-conservative population.

Does Senator Kelli know what happened to Texas recently when it tried to limit certain aviation policies established by the Federal Government? As we recall it - Texas were free to do as they wished but the Federal Government would close the airspace over Texas. Guess what happened?

Some of these folks should remember that the United States of America IS NOT the European Union... and we Thank God for that!!!

Web companies give first look at secret government data requests. (1)

Facebook, Microsoft, Yahoo and Google on Monday began publishing details about the number of secret government requests for data they receive, hoping to show limited involvement in controversial surveillance efforts.

Google said that between 9,000 and 9,999 of its users' accounts were the subject of such requests during the period, while Facebook said it received Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) content requests for between 5,000 to 5,999 members' accounts.

Yahoo said between 30,000 and 30,999 of accounts received FISA requests for content, which it said could include words in an email or instant message, photos on its Flickr photo-sharing service and address book or calendar entries.

Between 15,000 to 15,999 Microsoft-user accounts were the subject of FISA court orders requesting content during the first six months of 2013, the company said.

The various requests affected a fraction of a percent of the hundreds of millions of users each company says employ its online services, from email and search to social networking.

miguel de Portugal comments: When one considers that Yahoo has 270 + million accounts, and Google has many more, we fail to see the alarming significance of FISA requesting information on 9,000, 15,000 or 30,000 accounts. Even using 30,000 accounts, that is merely  0.11% of all the users!

We should be more concerned about the Who? and the Why? of all the fuss being made regarding the NSA activities, thus deviating public attention from what it should be noticing!

In very practical and real terms, if those numbers are indeed true, then NSA is not working hard enough!

Allow me to tell you, brethren.... I have lived in a Police State and know what that is really all about, so, when I evaluate the level of NSA activities, it is with very practical - on the flesh - experience!

Which brings me back to the real concern: The Who? and Why? of the fuss being made regarding the NSA activities.

Hero or hyena? Pope's aide in Polish controversy.

Poles are divided between praise and condemnation of John Paul II's secretary for publishing the late pope's personal notes - against his last will and testament.

John Paul ordered the notes burned after his death and put his trusted confidant, the Rev. Stanislaw Dziwisz, in charge of the task. To everyone's surprise, Dziwisz, now a cardinal, said recently that he "did not have the courage" to destroy the notes and is having them published as a precious insight into the inner life of the beloved pontiff, who will be declared a saint in April.

The book - "Very Much in God's Hands. Personal Notes 1962-2003" - comes out in Poland on Wednesday.

"What kind of hyena would disregard the last will of a dead person?" wrote Maksymilian Przybylo in an Internet posting.

The book contains religious meditations that Karol Wojtyla recorded between July 1962 and March 2003 - spanning a period in which he went from being a bishop in Poland to a globe-trotting superstar pope.

Still some are expressing shock that a trusted aide would disobey the orders of the pope, especially on a matter as sacred as a will.

"A bishop who should be giving us good example is instead showing a lack of subordination toward his superior," Anna Romejko, a student at the Catholic University of Lublin, said in an online post.

miguel de Portugal comments: Let us take this one step at a time since there are two very obvious options.

1. Question posed:  "What kind of hyena would disregard the last will of a dead person?"

We answer: A hyena who is a member of the Roman Catholic Hierarchy - which is the worse variety.

2. We sense something else, however. This may be a ploy worked out by the late John Paul II with his most trusted aide. A life long friend who would be willing to put his name and reputation on the line to get some information out that John Paul II wanted the world to know but could not do as a Pope.

Let us all "stay tuned" before passing judgment on Stanislaw Dziwisz.

If the reader wishes to know how I feel about it, here is our inclination: Option 2.

The inclination is so strong that as soon as the book is available in any of the three languages we can accurately read, we will obtain it. I am sure that I will read revelations that we already knew otherwise as part of my service to God.

U.N. Panel Criticizes the Vatican Over Sexual Abuse. (1)

In a hard-hitting report applauded by victims as a landmark in the Roman Catholic Church's clerical sexual-abuse scandal, a United Nations committee on Wednesday called on the Vatican to remove all child abusers from its ranks, report them to law enforcement and open the church's archives so that bishops and other officials who concealed crimes could be held accountable.

The report, issued by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, is likely to put pressure on Pope Francis to make concrete changes in the way the church handles abuse cases and put some muscle into the commission on abuse that he announced in December, whose members and mission have not yet been specified.

The Vatican responded on Wednesday calling UN child abuse report 'distorted' and 'unfair' (2) and that they had already made many of the changes called for in the report, and that the report's conclusions were out of date.

miguel de Portugal comments: I have nothing to say that we have not said before about those adulterers at the Vatican. Just a reminder from Jesus:

[5] And he that shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me. [6] But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea. [7] Woe to the world because of scandals. For it must needs be that scandals come: but nevertheless woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh. [Matthew 18]

They will soon find out that Jesus' Words are indeed true - with Bergoglio leading the list of those to whom the above Words will be summarily applied by God - not man but by God Himself.

Snipers Coordinated an Attack on a Power Grid in Silicon Valley Last April . But why? (1) (2)

Last April 16 [shortly before 2 AM (PST)], unknown attackers shot up 17 transformers at a California substation in what the then-chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Jon Wellinghoff called "the most significant incident of domestic terrorism involving the grid that has ever occurred" in this country.

Though news reports about the incident at the Metcalf transmission facility came out in April, The Wall Street Journal just pieced together the larger story of the attack together from regulatory filings and outside reporting.

Various power-grid facilities are vandalized or damaged regularly, but the details of this particular attack are startling. Whoever executed the maneuver knew where to shoot the transformers.

Wellinghoff toured the site with Navy Seals, according to the Journal, and they were convinced that it was a professional job.

Despite the great reporting in the WSJ story, the central question remains unresolved: Why did this attack occur? What did they want?

Without being too Pynchonian about the whole thing, I find myself asking: What would an attack like this allow someone to do somewhere else? What else was going on in the wee hours of April 16, 2013?

miguel de Portugal comments: No prophecy but it seems that only two "Why?" are available: (a) A practice run; or (b) Something else that the attackers wanted to stop/block albeit temporarily.  As far fetched as it sounds.... Could it be that it had something to do with Income Tax Filing deadline - April 15th. After all, at the time of the "vandalism" it still was April 15th at the IRS center in Washington, D.C.

The main point that we are trying to make is: It is that simple to disrupt whatever needs to be disrupted by criminals, no matter what it takes or how impossible it may seem.

Turkey approves new law to restrict internet. (1)

Despite opposition from press freedom and human rights groups, Turkey's parliament has approved legislation that will tighten government controls over the Internet.

The country's telecommunications authority will be allowed to block websites for a privacy violation without a prior court decision.

The legislation will also force Internet providers to keep records on Web users' activities for two years and make them available to authorities when requested.

The government claims the law will protect privacy and not amount to censorship.

miguel de Portugal comments: This is what logically happens when we cannot practice auto-discipline which, in turn, has been the genesis of most dictatorships.

Super Bowl Prostitution Bust: 16 Underage Prostitutes Rescued, 45 Pimps Arrested In FBI Operation. (1)

Sixteen teenage prostitutes were rescued during an FBI operation aimed at disrupting sex trafficking during the Super Bowl that led to the arrests of 45 pimps and their associates, the bureau announced Tuesday.

"High-profile special events, which draw large crowds, have become lucrative opportunities for child prostitution criminal enterprises," Ron Hosko, assistant director of the FBI's Criminal Investigative Division, said. "The FBI and our partners remain committed to stopping this cycle of victimization and putting those who try to profit from this type of criminal activity behind bars."

The teen prostitutes ranged in age from 13 to 17 years old and included high school students and children who had been reported missing by their families, the FBI said. The operation lasted six months.

'Aid in Dying' Movement Takes Hold in Some States. (1)

Helping the terminally ill end their lives, condemned for decades as immoral, is gaining traction. Banned everywhere but Oregon until 2008, it is now legal in five states. Its advocates, who have learned to shun the term "assisted suicide," believe that as baby boomers watch frail parents suffer, support for what they call the "aid in dying" movement will grow further.

In January, a district court in New Mexico authorized doctors to provide lethal prescriptions and declared a constitutional right for "a competent, terminally ill patient to choose aid in dying." Last May, the Vermont Legislature passed a law permitting it, joining Montana, Oregon and Washington. This spring, advocates are strongly promoting "death with dignity" bills in Connecticut and other states.

miguel de Portugal comments: It is just "in the packaging".

Remember when "pregnancy interruption" was called "abortion"? And "cohabitation" used to be called "shacking up"? And a "soul mate" was called "a lover"? And "gay lifestyle" was the heterosexual party time period which preceded the Great Depression?

Well, such repackaging does not have any "traction" (it used to be "pull" and then "appeal" before it became "traction") in Heaven.

Hell continues to be just that, Hell!

satan continues having a Field Day and the fools keep falling for it!

Another reason to pray more! If we do not pray for those fools, as it is our responsibility, who will?

They are too gone to even realize that they need to pray!

Healthy giraffe is publicly killed and fed to lions Copenhagen Zoo authorities. (1)

Copenhagen Zoo said it euthanized the male, named Marius, on Sunday because of a duty to avoid inbreeding.

After an autopsy, "Marius" was dismembered in front of a zoo audience that included children, and fed to the zoo's lions.

Despite online uproar over the move and reports of last-minute attempts to save the animal, the zoo in the Danish capital said it had no place for Marius in its giraffe herd.

"Our giraffes are part of an international breeding program, which has a purpose of ensuring a sound and healthy population of giraffes," Bengt Holst, scientific director at Copenhagen Zoo, told CNN. "It can only be done by matching the genetic composition of the various animals with the available space. ... When giraffes breed as well as they do now, then you will inevitably run into so-called surplus problems now and then."

CNN anchor Jonathan Mann asked Holst if it would have been possible to sterilize Marius or move him to another zoo to avoid killing him.

"If we just sterilize him, he will take up space for more genetically valuable giraffes," Holst answered.

Did the children watching cry? Mann asked.

Just the opposite, Holst said. The crowd was "very enthusiastic" and "the kids asked good questions."

miguel de Portugal comments: If these adults, who probably have never seen anything like that as children, have acted in such barbaric manner as adults, can you imagine how the children who watched this brutal act "enthusiatically" will act if allowed to grow without direct Divine action.

Security of dirty bomb materials in U.S. inadequate experts say. (1)

There are more than 5,000 medical and research devices in the United States containing high-activity radiation sources, including 700 with category-1 sources.

Category-1 radiation material could be used by terrorists in dirty bombs.

The security measures developed by the industry were written with accident prevention in mind, not in order to thwart a deliberate, forcible effort by terrorists or criminals to gain control of the toxic material.

In addition, radioactive materials were considered to be “self-protecting,” because it was assumed that the powerful radiation would deter anyone thinking of tampering with these devices.

Terrorist bomb-makers, however, showed themselves to be more technologically-savvy than earlier thought, and, in any event, suicide bombers would not be deterred by the risk of radiation poisoning.

miguel de Portugal comments: Amazing! Experts are actually using their brain and being coherent! It is a shame that it is entirely too late.

Russia Claims U.S. Meddling Over Ukraine. (1)

The tense Russian-American jockeying over the fate of Ukraine escalated on Thursday as a Kremlin official accused Washington of "crudely interfering" in the former Soviet republic, while the Obama administration blamed Moscow for spreading an intercepted private conversation between two American diplomats.

An audiotape of the conversation appeared on the Internet and opened a window into American handling of the political crisis here, as the two diplomats candidly discussed the composition of a possible new government to replace the pro-Russian cabinet of Ukraine's president, Viktor F. Yanukovych. It also turned the tables on the Obama administration, which has been under fire lately for spying on foreign leaders.

The tape captured a four-minute telephone call on Jan. 25 between Victoria Nuland, the assistant secretary of state for European affairs, and Geoffrey Pyatt, the ambassador to Ukraine, trading their views of the crisis, their assessments of various opposition leaders and their frustrations with their European counterparts they see as passive. At one point, Ms. Nuland used an expletive to describe what should happen to the European Union, a comment for which she apologized Thursday.

miguel de Portugal comments: The only thing wrong that we see with this situation is the naiveté of the US diplomats. Don't they know that even their trips to the rest rooms are monitored and probably recorded?

I would not have apologized at all since it was a private and frank (albeit a bit obscene) conversation between two professionals in the field. Had it been made for public consumption, then it would have truly been offensive and, an apology would have been a must!

Our diplomats need to start texting GFAK to these people/leakers/media instead of apologizing when things like this occur.

Use Force to Save Starving Syrians. (1)

The Syrian people are starving. According to the United Nations, about 800,000 civilians are currently under siege. In areas around the cities of Homs, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor and in parts of the capital, Damascus, no food, medical supplies or humanitarian aid can get in, and people can't get out.

Many have already died under these "starvation sieges" and hundreds of thousands teeter on the brink, subsisting on grass and weeds. In Damascus, a cleric has ruled that under these conditions, Muslims are permitted to eat normally forbidden animals like cats, dogs and donkeys.

This is not a famine. Food is abundant just a few miles away from these besieged areas. Military forces - mainly the army of President Bashar al-Assad, but in some cases extremist anti-Assad militias - are preventing food and medicine from reaching trapped civilians.

This moral obscenity demands action by the international community. Any armed group that prevents humanitarian access - whether the Syrian regime’s forces or rebel militias - should be subject to coercive measures.

miguel de Portugal comments: Why should God continue to protect those who, in comfort, allow this type of situation on a worldwide scale?

Do the majority of "the comfortable ones" have mercy on these people and the many others throughout the world who are in similar straights? Why should God have Mercy on them? The only way "the comfortable ones" will learn is under crushing pain.... so, be it!

Snowden Used Low-Cost Tool to Best N.S.A. (1)

Intelligence officials investigating how Edward J. Snowden gained access to a huge trove of the country's most highly classified documents say they have determined that he used inexpensive and widely available software to "scrape" the National Security Agency's networks, and kept at it even after he was briefly challenged by agency officials.

Using "web crawler" software designed to search, index and back up a website, Mr. Snowden "scraped data out of our systems" while he went about his day job, according to a senior intelligence official. "We do not believe this was an individual sitting at a machine and downloading this much material in sequence," the official said. The process, he added, was "quite automated."

The findings are striking because the N.S.A.'s mission includes protecting the nation's most sensitive military and intelligence computer systems from cyberattacks, especially the sophisticated attacks that emanate from Russia and China. Mr. Snowden's "insider attack," by contrast, was hardly sophisticated and should have been easily detected, investigators found.

Moreover, Mr. Snowden succeeded nearly three years after the WikiLeaks disclosures, in which military and State Department files, of far less sensitivity, were taken using similar techniques.

miguel de Portugal comments:  Once the intellectual capacity of those who watch over our National Security has been solidly established, we should point out the fact that the enemies of the US have enough in hand - in all fields - to bring the nation to its knees in the blink of an eye. It is just a matter of God allowing it at the most effective time for the remaining Elect, who still are in a semi catatonic state, to wake up.

Stephanie Seymour's Steamy Mother-Son Photos: What's Wrong With This Picture? (1)

Sooo ... this is awkward. In a provocative new photo shoot for Harper's Bazaar, supermodel Stephanie Seymour dons lingerie and strikes come-and-get-it poses while draping herself around two much-younger men. Oh, and those guys just happen to be her sons, Peter Brant II, 20, and Harry Brant, 17.

One photo in the 11-page spread depicts Seymour wearing a black, backless, cleavage-baring minidress. She faces one son, whose arm is wrapped around her waist, while the other son’s hand rests near her rear end.

Seymour's own hand covers her crotch.

In another photo, she rocks a corset, briefs, and lace-up boots, while her sons pull at her boot strings.

And in a third, Seymour sports a sheer dress, while her sons kneel on either side of her body - one hugs her thigh, the other rests his head close to her hip.

The rest of the photos are two degrees tamer: The family playfully poses while applying makeup, wearing funky headdresses, and brushing their hair.

miguel de Portugal comments: No; we do not waste valuable time scouring the net for the kind of news we post here. Either they are plentiful since our interaction with the media is very, very brief or God makes sure that we see them. I suspect the latter is the case.

Considering what we have said in the last few days, I do not need to make any comments on these revolting developments except, if Harper's Bazaar is behind this perversion it is because there is a market for it.

Keep all of this in mind as the world crashes in collective agony. He is allowing it for the benefit of the Elect. (2)

Spy Chief Says Snowden Took Advantage of 'Perfect Storm' of Security Lapses. (1)

Mr. Clapper also said, for the first time, that some of the information Mr. Snowden is believed to possess could expose the identities of undercover American operatives as well as foreigners who have been recruited by United States spy agencies..... it is unclear how much of that information he took with him when he fled the United States. He is now in Russia.

Under questioning, Mr. Clapper made clear that while the N.S.A. has installed security upgrades, not all locations have the software and warning systems that could detect mass downloads of information. He did not address why the agency was not able to detect the web crawler, which indexed and copied all the data in its path.

He said it was likely Mr. Snowden would have been caught if he had been taking the information from inside N.S.A. headquarters at Fort Meade, Md., instead of at an outpost in Hawaii.

miguel de Portugal comments: And Mr. Clapper was not summarily fired after the hearing?

How about the mega-fools who allowed any of the NSA outpost to be without the same security as the NSA headquarters?

Brethren, all of this defies logic, coherence and sanity unless, of course, it is/was part of the plan to bring the U.S. to its knees as we have mentioned many times before - a  requirement for the establishment of the One World Order.... which, as we have also announced, will never come to fruition.

China's Gold Demand Tops 1,000 Tonnes For The First Time In 2013 . (1)

China's demand for gold exceeded 1,000 metric tonnes (1,102 short tons) for the first time in 2013, a 41 percent leap from 2012, the China Gold Association said.

The surge in gold consumption, fueled by a 28 percent slide in prices in early 2013, makes China the biggest gold consumer in the world. By contrast, demand dropped in India, the world's second biggest gold consumer.

China consumed 1,176.40 tonnes of gold last year, with jewelry demand climbing 43 percent to 716.50 tonnes, and bullion demand leaping 57 percent to 375.73 tonnes, according to statistics on China Gold Association's website.

miguel de Portugal comments: The, yet to be matched, historical high for the price of gold (in 1980) was triggered by the Japanese who, at that time, were flush with cash as the Chinese now are.

Now You Can Track U.S. Drone Killings on an App. (1)

On Monday, the new publication First Look reported that electronically obtained metadata controls who, how, and when U.S. drones kill abroad. Journalists Glenn Greenwald and Jeremy Scahill write that that kind of information doesn't only determine who is killed: Metadata on phone SIM cards determines how victims of the strikes are found.

"The drone program amounts to little more than death by unreliable metadata," they write, paraphrasing an ex-drone operator.

Now, a new iPhone app lets you explore the consequences of that phenomenon. Named - fittingly - Metadata+, it catalogues and maps drone killings by the United States and is now free and available for download.

Its two views variously mirror iOS's Messages interface, displaying the date, location, and victims of each killing; it also shows a map of U.S. drone strikes across the Middle East and Somalia.

Most strikingly, Metadata+ will send users an in-app notification whenever there's a new strike.

miguel de Portugal comments: Another sign of how far gone we are as a society. How soon will it be before this new App is turned into some sort of guessing and betting games?

The "Mask": Kaspersky Lab discovers advanced global cyber-espionage operation. (1)

Kaspersky Lab's security researchers have announced the discovery of the Mask (aka Careto), an advanced Spanish-language speaking threat actor that has been involved in global cyber-espionage operations since at least 2007. What makes the Mask special is the complexity of the toolset used by the attackers. This includes a sophisticated malware, a rootkit, a bootkit, Mac OS X and Linux versions, and possibly versions for Android and iOS (iPad/iPhone).

The primary targets are government institutions, diplomatic offices and embassies, energy, oil, and gas companies, research organizations and activists. Victims of this targeted attack have been found in thirty-one countries around the world - from the Middle East and Europe to Africa and the Americas.

The main objective of the attackers is to gather sensitive data from the infected systems. These include office documents, but also various encryption keys, VPN configurations, SSH keys (serving as a means of identifying a user to an SSH server), and RDP files (used by the Remote Desktop Client to automatically open a connection to the reserved computer).

"Several reasons make us believe this could be a nation-state sponsored campaign. First of all, we observed a very high degree of professionalism in the operational procedures of the group behind this attack. From infrastructure management, shutdown of the operation, avoiding curious eyes through access rules to using wiping instead of deletion of log files. These combine to put this APT ahead of Duqu in terms of sophistication, making it one of the most advanced threats at the moment," said Costin Raiu, Director of the Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT) at Kaspersky Lab. "This level of operational security is not normal for cyber-criminal groups."

For the victims, an infection with Careto can be disastrous. Careto intercepts all communication channels and collects the most vital information from the victim's machine. Detection is extremely difficult because of stealth rootkit capabilities, built-in functionalities and additional cyber-espionage modules.

miguel de Portugal comments: This newly acknowledged security threat has all the markings of an Opus Dei project. Down to: (a) a very high degree of professionalism; (b) their Mother Tongue - Spanish; and (c) what it does and to whom.

An ideal tool to fulfill their dream. (2)

EU says financial help is available for Ukraine if it reforms. (1)

As anti-government protesters downed tools and marched on Kyiv’s Independence Square on Thursday, an EU Commissioner said financial aid is available for Ukraine but only if it reforms.

The one-hour, nationwide strike was called by opposition leader and ex-boxing champion Vladimir Klitschko.

Both he and President Viktor Yanukovych have met EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele who has spent three days in Kyiv.

"On the financial assistance, yes there are conditions, very transparent and I would call them reforms, reforms, reforms," Fuele told a news conference in the capital.

"There is a need to take urgent steps on constitutional reforms, formation of the new inclusive government and ensuring free and fair elections."

Calls for coalition government aside, Fuele has visited those injured in three months of pro-EU protests, both opposition casualties and wounded police officers.

miguel de Portugal comments: What the Ukraine leadership - both sides - need to do is: Evaluate the real price of siding with the European Union and with Russia. They both have a price; the question is which price is the best for the people.

We have no idea about what would be the "price with Russia" but we can resolutely assure each and everyone of you that the price paid by Spain, Portugal and Greece to the European Union was not worth it in any way possible.

The worse decision those countries have made (and others, I am sure but we do not have hands-on experience in them) was to enter the European Union. I was in and out of Europe before, during and after the transfer and my experience can be summed up as follows: Every time I see another country joining the EU and celebrating their First Day, I cannot help but think - literally: "If you only knew...!"

I live within the local societies - not with the "tourist crowd" - so I know, first hand, day in and day out, the price that they are paying... for NOTHING!

Now, maybe Russia's price is higher but that I do not know and, as our readers should now know by heart: What miguel does not know, he does not invent; he just does not know it and makes his ignorance on the matter public without any "if's", "but's" or "and's".

Opus Dei, which completely controls the Roman Catholic Church in Cuba, has come up with a "Plan B" after they recently lost the clout/influence they had managed to obtain. The following is the translation of part of a lengthy article by Zenit regarding said Plan B. Of course, those dispossessed of the "keys" could not decode it in the proverbial thousand years. We must admit - it is a clever plan to capture local adepts. [Our highlights]

Since January 13 , thousands of Cubans are visiting the Cathedral of Havana exposition "The Bible: God's way in the Way of Man" which composed of 8 galleries with a total of 120 objects of historical and archaeological value related Scripture and history.

Visitors to the show, you can admire: from an 'oil lamp with four corners' made of clay, dating from about 2000 BC, to a microfilm of the Lunar Bible Apollo 14 (English), led to the moon, on February 5, 1971 , by astronaut Edgar D. Mitchell.

In addition, visitors who answer questions about the Bible, receive printing ink on their sight for a wood artifact replica of the Gutenberg press in 1445 that revolutionized the world of reading .

To accommodate this exhibition , the Cathedral of Havana ceased liturgically since January 2.

As pastoral preparation, November was devoted to biblical studies at the Havana Catholic communities.

The exhibition was accompanied by five lectures given by specialists, such as Archbishop Jean Louis Brugues , OP Archiverodel Vatican , Dr. Carlos Campo, President of Regent University , USA , Cardinal Giuseppe Betori , Archbishop of Florence, Italy , Dr. Esther Miquel , University of Salamanca and P. José M. Abrego de Lacy, SJ President of the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome .

miguel de Portugal final comments: Cannot help but chuckle at the name of the exposition: "The Bible: God's way in the Way of Man" . As you may recall, the Opus Dei "bible" is that ridiculous pamphlet written by Escrivá at the beginning of his journey and which contains 999 points and which he arrogantly called "The Way".

Incidentally, if you give a swift kick to the number 999, you end with 666...
