PART 1 [New Testament]
Matthew 8:16-17
That evening they brought to him many who were possessed with demons; and he cast out the spirits
with a word, and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet
Isaiah, "He took our infirmities and bore our diseases."
Mark 1:32-39
That evening, at sundown, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. And the
whole city was gathered together about the door. And he healed many who were sick with various
diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew
him.
And in the morning, a great while before day, he rose and went out to a lonely place, and there he prayed. And Simon and those who were with him pursued him, and they found him and said to him, "Every one is searching for you." And he said to them, "Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also; for that is why I came out." And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.

Luke 4:40-41
Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought
them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them. And demons also came out
of many, crying, "You are the Son of God!" But he rebuked them, and would not allow them to
speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
Matthew 8:28:34
And when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, two demoniacs met him, coming
out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way. And behold, they cried out, "What
have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?" Now a
herd of many swine was feeding at some distance from them. And the demons begged him, "If you
cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine." And he said to them, "Go."
So they came out and went into the swine; and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and perished in the waters. The herdsmen fled, and going into the city they told everything, and what had happened to the demoniacs. And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their neighborhood.

Mark 5:1-20
They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes. And when he had come out
of the boat, there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who lived among the
tombs; and no one could bind him any more, even with a chain; for he had often been bound with
fetters and chains, but the chains he wrenched apart, and the fetters he broke in pieces; and no
one had the strength to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was
always crying out, and bruising himself with stones.
And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped him; and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me." For he had said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!" And Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" He replied, "My name is Legion; for we are many." And he begged him eagerly not to send them out of the country. Now a great herd of swine was feeding there on the hillside; and they begged him, "Send us to the swine, let us enter them."
So he gave them leave. And the unclean spirits came out, and entered the swine; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and were drowned in the sea. The herdsmen fled, and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened. And they came to Jesus, and saw the demoniac sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, the man who had had the legion; and they were afraid. And those who had seen it told what had happened to the demoniac and to the swine.
And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their neighborhood. And as he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. But he refused, and said to him, "Go home to your friends, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you." And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him; and all men marveled.

Let us pray...
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of battle, be our safeguard against the
wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, Prince of the
Heavenly Hosts, by the Power of God, thrust into Hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl
through the world seeking the ruin of souls. AMEN!
