Why God Must Say "NO!" Sometimes
PURPOSE
The purpose of this very brief document is to help us understand why it seems that God is always saying "No!".
It only "seems" since He says "Yes!" more often than we give Him credit for but, since we always want everything our way —regardless of our claims to be deferring to His Will— it seems that He is always saying no.
We have no idea who the author of this text is but it really does not matter – the "Truth" is the "Truth" and the authorship of "Truth" can always be traced back to God.
Let us rejoice that there is someOne Who loves us so much Who prefers to be misunderstood than to steer us in the wrong direction.
DETAILS
I asked God to take away my habit.
And God said: "No!"
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
And God said: "No!"
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary and there is a real purpose for that handicap - a purpose which you will understand when you cross the veil.

I asked God to grant me patience.
And God said: "No!"
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
And God said: "No!"
I give you many blessings; Happiness depends on how you use My Blessings.

I asked God to spare me pain.
And God said: "No!"
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to Me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
And God said: "No!"
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
And God said: "No!"
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said... Ahhhh, you finally ask for what is really important.
THIS DAY - AS EVERY DAY - IS YOURS, DON'T THROW IT AWAY!
CONCLUSION
Shouldn't we be as grateful to Him when He says "No!" as when He says "Yes!"?
We certainly think so!
