PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to present a simplified - but to the point - defense to the Catholic Faith in order to assist those, among the Elect, who are of weak faith and could be easily deceived.
What we are NOT doing is:
(a) Trying to convince anyone to convert to Catholicism.
(b) Defend the Roman Catholic Church Administration - which is indefensible.
(c) Imply that there is no Salvation outside Catholicism, because there is!
If any of the above statements have caused you ill feelings, move on.(b) Defend the Roman Catholic Church Administration - which is indefensible.
(c) Imply that there is no Salvation outside Catholicism, because there is!
For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have
closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with
their hearts and turn, and I would heal them [Matthew 13:15]
If you are curious and/or intrigued - Welcome! Come right in!
BACKGROUND
We have no doubts that the Catholic Faith is the one Faith which has the greatest concentration of Divinely Revealed Truths.
By no means it has them all since God is the only Plenitude of Truth, but no other Faith has as many Truths in its Spiritual Treasury as the Catholic Faith. Be it the reality of the Seven Sacraments; be it the practice of Indulgences; be it the reality of Purgatory; be it the truth about the Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ, True God and True Man; be it the true Petrine Ministry; etc.
It is a tragedy how such immense Spiritual Treasure has been squandered by its Administration - exceptions always noted - in the pursuit of material treasures over the last 1,600 years of history at the expense of not fulfilling the Command of He Who established it, Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.
We also believe that there is Salvation outside the Roman Catholic Church because Jesus said so...
Master, we saw a certain man casting out devils in thy name, and we forbade him,
because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said to him: Forbid him not;
for he that is not against you, is for you. [Luke 9:
49-50]
...and His Word supersedes the word of any man. We explained that in detail in a separate document.
INTRODUCTION
There is a very extensive - 60 pages long to be exact - treatise on-line authored by Mr. Jeremy James (1) which was composed after his alleged conversion in 2008. A conversion which was no more that a complete demonic possession which, in turn, perfectly illustrates what he is erroneously claiming that Marian Apparitions are: Satan in satin.
To avoid confusion: Mr. James, a cradle Irish Catholic, believes that he is now a Born Again Christian, that all Marian Apparitions are demonic manifestations and that the Catholic Faith is sheer and unadulterated witchcraft. Precisely what satan wants the few truly faithful Catholics to believe.
All the while he gives all due Biblical credit to the importance of Mary - including what we have published about the importance Islam's Holy Book - the Qur'an.
The whole thing is quite fascinating from a scientific, psychological and mystical points of views: We have here the proverbial "pot calling the kettle black"; a kettle that was never black, while the black pot thinks it is white!
A Note for non Americans: The phrase "The pot calling the kettle black" is an idiom used to claim that a person is guilty of the very thing of which they accuse another.
The enhancement in this situation is that Mr. James is not conscious of his possessed state. Fascinating!
DETAILS
Basically, our rebuttal of all of Mr. James' claims may be found in our documents Why is the Virgin Mary Considered So Important and The Motherhood of Mary.
Yes, satan will try to use the legitimate apparitions of the the Virgin Mary, but we have already expose such plans in yet another document.
Those who do not know miguel de Portugal and the reason why he can make such resolute statements are invited to review miguel de Portugal : A Focused Autobiography.
CONCLUSION
In the way of conclusion, miguel de Portugal now echoes the words of Paul as if his own:
...I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you. For I have not
hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. [Acts 20:26-28]
