The Admonishment From St. Paul

miguel de Portugal Repeats It Now

PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to bring back to life,  and repeat for today, an admonishment from St. Paul which has been misunderstood over the centuries. An admonishment which has been used to weaken the Faith of the children of God.

BACKGROUND

In 1 Corinthians (7: 26 - 35) St. Paul warns as follows:

I think then that this is good, on account of the present necessity, that [it is] good for a man to remain so as he is.  Art thou bound to a wife? seek not to be loosed; art thou free from a wife? do not seek a wife.  But if thou shouldest also marry, thou hast not sinned; and if the virgin marry, they have not sinned: but such shall have tribulation in the flesh; but I spare you.

But this I say, brethren, the time is straitened. For the rest, that they who have wives, be as not having [any]:  and they that weep, as not weeping; and they that rejoice, as not rejoicing; and they that buy, as not possessing;  and they that use the world, as not disposing of it as their own; for the fashion of this world passes.

Other Bible versions utilize the phrases "present distress", "such people will have the hardships consequent on human nature"  and  "the time is short: it remaineth".

The general consensus of the alleged Biblical experts  was to brush off everything else Paul said associated with such urgent exhortations because they believed that it was another failed warning about the tribulations preceding the Second Coming of Our Lord.

Paul clearly stated in the full text of St. Paul's exhortations (1) that  not following this urgent call  was not to be considered a sin but that it would be a good idea to follow them.

Why? Because it was better at that time, and in preparation for what was to come, to focus on the things of the Lord and not get tangled up in the normal day to day living affairs.

But why then? This is what Paul responds (from the past), and what miguel de Portugal echoes today "... I say this for your own profit; ... but for ... waiting on the Lord without distraction."

DETAILS

The first letter to the Corinthians was completed in the year 57 A.D.... thirteen years before the Romans razed the Temple and Jerusalem and dispersed the Jews to the four corners of the known world (from where they started returning many centuries later after World War II).

Paul did not make a mistake. He did not mistakenly announce  the Second Coming of Our Lord; he, knowing what tribulations awaited Judaism and Christianity (yet in its infancy), thought it appropriate to issue said warnings because, by minimizing people's attention on worldly matters and exhorting them to focus their attention on Godly matters, their suffering would be minimized.

Does this sound familiar? It should, if you are familiar with the exhortations of The M+G+R Foundation because that is precisely our function today (2).

CONCLUSION

Hopefully, the faithful may now realize that Paul was not over dramatizing something that would still not happen for ca. 1950 years. He was warning about the approaching time when the Temple and Jerusalem would be razed and the persecution/diaspora of the people of God would commence.

Now,  miguel de Portugal, in the Name of God, renews such exhortations with two additions. This time....

(a) Heaven is referring to the "necessity"/"distress"/"tribulations" associated with the Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ at the End of These Times (3)  for which  "the time is short: it remaineth"; and

(b) The suffering that awaits humanity in general, and Christians specifically, will make what the Jews of 70 A.D. suffered look like a gentle Sabbath stroll.

EPILOGUE

I, miguel de Portugal (5) wish to Glorify God by confessing to the faithful that I am issuing this warning again because God Wills that we do and my love for Him demands that I do so.

Left to my own devices and miseries, and having to continually endure the zombie like denial (4) of most of the alleged Christians.  I honestly confess:

I would have not spent my time issuing this admonishment. However, love demands that humanity be alerted that Paul was not wrong; that he was right then and that each one of you should be heeding said warning, renewed for you today, more than you should have in Paul's time

Rest assured - you no longer have the luxury of a 13 years advance notice as the Corinthians had; your time is just about up.

May the Holy Spirit of God guide your every step. We assure you - without it, you will be hopelessly lost.
