I have a question regarding All Souls Day.
Everyone's culture has different celebrations. In the Mexican Culture their is The Day of the Dead. ..... Is celebrating The Day of the Dead okay, or is their a pagan meaning behind it? Halloween has certainly taken on a life of its own also.

Answer
It was obviously a Pagan celebration which the Spanish colonizers blended with the Catholic All
Souls Day as an Evangelization tool, while allowing, as they have done so many times, the shades
of paganism to remain. One can then see how All Saint's Eve was blended with the Day of the Dead
resulting in Halloween. Instead of Christianizing the Day
of the Dead it resulted in another Pagan festival -
Halloween.

Did you know that...Christians should not celebrate nor glorify
Halloween in any way? In a nutshell, this is the
background of Halloween:
Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival
known as Samhain. The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in
Gaelic culture, and is sometimes regarded as the “Celtic New Year”. Traditionally, the
festival was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and slaughter livestock
for winter stores. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, now known as
Halloween, the boundary between the alive and the deceased
dissolved, and the dead become dangerous for the living by causing problems such as sickness or
damaged crops. .....
Since Halloween is such an ingrained custom —instead of
ignoring it we suggest that it is explained to the youngsters what is really at the root of it and
then substitute the event with a fun filled costume party— with no ghouls, ghosts, witches, etc.
costumes allowed. .....

Q. May I ask a favor of you please. I am not certain if the enclosed article is 100% true as to
what Catholics believe about Halloween or not. Could you
please read this article and let me know your thoughts. I'm confused because some of it sounds
very anti-Catholic but I''m not sure. I would like to forward this article on to my prayer group.
Answer
A. For the benefit of the readers at large, following are some quotes from the submitted article:
Rev. Theresa Quinto Pavone "Eaching On Halloween" -

Christians should not celebrate Halloween because its
customs and practices come from an ancient, pagan (Celtic) festival of the dead. Therefore to
participate in Halloween is to serve the devil; Christians
should not celebrate Halloween because pagans and
satanists still observe it today as an - holy day; .....
The M+G+R Foundation Comments
Yes, the roots of Halloween may be found in ancient pagan
practices. No, we do not recommend the "celebration" of
Halloween any more than we would "celebrate" the
anniversary of Roe vs Wade when taken as a law promoting abortion. .....
Temporal power cannot root out evil since satan is the Prince of this world. Only engaging the
power of God, as it was originally done, evil can be rooted out. Result: The celebration of
Halloween persistent and now it is being spread to every
nation which "we have liberated" by means of aggressive consumerism.

Speaking about the date 10-10-10... Of course that date symbolizes October 10, 2010.
Without pursuing the issue in the numerology context, we realized that half of 42 is 21 and
October 31st (now popularly celebrated as Halloween Day
(2)) was 21 days after October 10th. Since we have traveled that far with this "number theory", we
wondered what November 21st would be. To our astonishment it is Sunday, the celebration of Christ
the King. As most of our readers know, the celebration of Christ the King falls on a different day
every year and, this year it fell 42 days after the 10-10-10 date.

Satanist convention “SatanCon 2023” of The Satanic Temple
Notes: ..... (2) The Satanic Temple claims that they “do not worship Satan nor do believe in the
existence of Satan or the supernatural”. Apparently, they are a mixture of
Halloween party, a benevolent club and a statement of good
intentions in which they do not invoke the real Satan. That is why we call it apparently
“benign”. But, as we say: apparently.

while we are at it, and since we are approaching fall, could you also mention,
halloween, that it also is not just harmless fun going
along with the crowd... i see so many people falling for this one too, myself included until this
event 4 years ago, which really opened my eyes, to how we have been 'robbed' of all our holy days,
by buying into all this nonsense of santas, easter bunnies, we have opened our doors and allowed
our children to be mislead, and their trust in us to be ruined.

Humanity was given one more opportunity, in a most severe manner, to reawaken their Faith and
dependence on Me. Your response was severely wanting. It was painfully obvious in the "business as
